?What drives us to get up every morning

Instead of growing in an accepting environment and realizing the great talent and potential within them, these youth find themselves in a gradual process of detachment and dropout from frameworks, eventually leading to exclusion from the community as a whole. In Israel, there are thousands of adolescents from high-quality religious families and communities who, for various reasons, are unable to receive appropriate support and inclusion in regular educational frameworks.

We believe

We believe that every adolescent, every young person, deserves to receive continuous and uncompromising support, along with a personal, emotional, group, and educational framework tailored to their needs and aspirations, throughout all their years in the education system.
Therefore, we aspire to create an educational and social climate, in the form of an association for at-risk teenagers that combats the phenomenon of dropping out from educational frameworks within the religious community in Israel.
The responsibility and commitment for this lie with everyone engaged in the field of education: from the leaders and administrators of the system at the national, municipal, and school levels, to the very last teacher in the classroom.
From this sense of responsibility and commitment must emerge a new generation of educators who will no longer accept the dropout or exclusion of their students as a possibility or tool in their growth process. A generation of teachers who will know how to create an inclusive, accepting, and transformative environment for everyone who enters their classroom, who will fight with all their strength for every young soul, and who will do whatever it takes to ensure no student has to leave the framework.
Creating such an environment requires a profound shift in the understanding of the commitment between students, parents, teachers, and school administrators. This change demands the expansion and deepening of skills and tools for the staff and administrators of the frameworks, both at the individual and systemic levels, alongside the development of a tailored variety of educational and pedagogical solutions within the frameworks across the entire continuum of the educational spectrum.
We believe that change is possible. In many ways, it is already underway. There is much to be done, but the field is ready and eager for transformation. All that is needed is systemic alignment toward clear goals and a defined, paved path for implementation.
At Timora, we have taken the first steps in this direction.

Our Story

The Timora Association is a registered organization established in 2002 (5762) with the founding of "Yiftach," a religious boarding school for teenage boys in the picturesque community of Ovnat on the shores of the Dead Sea. This framework was, and still is, an educational-therapeutic program for boys who identify with the religious sector but have been unable to integrate into religious educational frameworks. The program's success naturally led to the establishment of a parallel framework for girls in 2004 (5764): "Machol," a youth village for teenage girls in the northern Jordan Valley settlement of Mechola.
Since then, additional frameworks for adolescents have been established in various locations across the country. Each has its own unique character and identity, but two things unite them all: they are educational-therapeutic frameworks, and they do incredible work with the teenagers.
